The Ministry of The Ministry of Labour and Social Security is concerned with matters affecting individuals in their capacity as workers, employers and members of the country’s labour force. These matters include industrial safety, employment promotion, providing a source of income for workers who are injured on the job, and retirement benefits.
JSIF and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security has no signed institutional agreement between them. Technical assistance regarding specific projects is received by the JSIF from the Ministry. In addition a no objection has to be received from the Ministry for the work to be undertaken.
Under the Hurricane Dean Emergency Recovery Loan Agreement a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the JSIF and the Ministry for the implementation of activities to be funded by this Agreement.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security will also collaborate with JSIF in implementing the Puente Programme under the Inner City Basic Services Project.
